  • NSTU Strike Action: Parent/Guardian Frequently Asked Questions

    On November 28, the Nova Scotia Teachers Union (NSTU) announced they are planning strike action beginning Monday, December 5. A "Frequently Asked Questions" information sheet for parents/guardians has been developed to address some of the questions you may have about the impacts of this strike action on activities at your child's school.   • All NS schools closed to students as of December 5

    The Minister of Education and Early Childhood Development has announced schools in NS will be closed to students Mon Dec 5 until further notice. Updates www.avrsb.ca


    THANK YOU to Valley Credit Union for supporting Mrs. Crane's class in purchasing a beautiful new incubator for our school.  It provides better viewing of the hatching process.   There is a picture of the incubator (which comes with a humidity control unit as well) in the pictures to the left.

  • November 28: Information for Parents and Guardians--NSTU Job Action

    This morning, the Nova Scotia Teachers Union announced that it intends to begin a work-to-rule strike action on Monday, December 5th at all schools in Nova Scotia. 

    The NSTU has described the work-to-rule in this way: Teachers will continue to carry out their instructional duties in classrooms, but will not support any extracurricular activities like concerts, coaching teams or supervising clubs; field trips will not go ahead. The NSTU has indicated that teachers will arrive 20 minutes before school and leave 20 minutes after, as stipulated in the Teachers Provincial Agreement.
